Custom ROMFirmware Update

Install LineageOS 17.1 on NVIDIA SHIELD Android TV [Android 10 Q]

NVIDIA has already released SHIELD Software Experience 8.2, which comes with various improvements for SHIELD TV series of devices. The update includes enhancements for the AI upscaler feature for 2019 SHIELD TVs, various new customization options for SHIELD remote menu button, improved IR and CEC volume control, among others. But, disappointment for the enthusiasts community is that SHIELD Software Experience 8.2 still based on Android 9 Pie. Thankfully XDA Recognized Developer Steel01 has released Lineage OS 17.1 custom ROM, based on Android 10.

Developer has noted various bugs currently, which should be fixed in the upcoming released. The colors would washed out, when the hardware overlays like app launch or the leanback keyboard, or the volume indicator. Another bug is that audio would die if display turns off when device goes to the sleep. Developer has suggested a workaround for no audio issue, he stated that as soon as the device boots, just go the launcher, once the setup wizard completes, go to settings and set screensaver options, select some type, like ‘backdrop’, with the setting ‘sleep’ to ‘never.
